Shadiye, also known as Shadz, is a 22‑year‑old Enfield‑based creative whose practice spans writing, directing, and performance. Culture, performance, and creativity have been central to her life since childhood, and she chose to pursue this passion by completing a BA in Drama at Queen Mary University of London. Her work includes Baby Can’t Wait, a charity play for the Mayor of Enfield’s chosen charities, as well as other short plays and multilingual, intergenerational work created with her grandfather, inspired by their Turkish Cypriot heritage. Alongside this, Shadiye teaches and directs performing arts at Young Talent Academy in Enfield, where she is passionate about supporting young people to build confidence and access the arts in an inclusive and empowering environment. She believes the arts can be transformative and are a powerful way to connect generations, communities, and cultures.
