Pirjetta Mulari (b. 1971) worked in the dance field since early 1990's, first as a dance teacher and choreographer, and since 1998 in arts management. Mulari has received a Master's Degree in Dance Studies at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance, majoring in Choreological Studies and Dance History. She has also a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Pedagogy from University of Jyväskylä in Finland. In addition, she has studied law and cultural politics.

As a dance teacher and choreographer, Mulari worked in the field of contemporary folk dance in Finland, pioneering in renewing the traditional folk dance into the context of contemporary dance and dance theatre. During 1990's, she choreographed for different dance companies in Finland, as well as for the Finnish television. She was an artistic director of Folk Dance and Music Ensemble Kiperä in 1993-98.

In 1998, she shifted her focus solely into arts management, first as a producer of performing arts in the organisation of Helsinki - European Cultural City 2000. In 2000, she joined Nomadi Productions as a producer, launching a production office for four Finnish choreographers, Alpo Aaltokoski, Jyrki Karttunen, Arja Raatikainen and Katri Soini.

Mulari worked outside the dance field in 2002-2004, while nominated in a position of program development manager at Heureka - the Finnish Science Center. In 2004, Mulari began her job as a managing director of Dance Arena, a festival organisation producing Moving in November Festival, and co-producing two other festivals: Zodiak - the Centre for New Dance's Side Step Festival and Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth's Ruutia! Festival.

In August 2005, Mulari started as a project manager of international affairs at Dance Info Finland (DIF). Mulari's task was to co-ordinate and run international projects in dance, including the export project for Finnish dance. In 2007, her position was made permanent, and she worked as Manager, International Affairs at Dance Info Finland until September 2016. During that time, she developed DIF's international activities such as promotional projects, residence exchange programmes and international collaborations (for instance Finland-Japan Residence Exchange Programme, Korea-Finland Connection, collaboration between Finland and Australia).

Mulari has been active in Nordic collaboration projects (kedja, ICE HOT) and is also the Finnish partner for Aerowaves network in Europe. Mulari has been the first president of Finnish Dance Managers and Producers Association in 2004-2006. She has also served in different curatorial panels for platforms (for instance Representing Ireland and Czech Dance Platform in 2013), and curated Dance in Vancouver in 2015.

In October 2016, Mulari started to work as a head cultural producer in Annantalo Arts Centre, which is a multi arts centre for children and young. In 2021, she was chosen to work as a director of Annantalo as well as the chief of children’s culture in the city of Helsinki. As a director of Annantalo, she is in charge of leading a staff of around 35 professionals and a house with multiple spaces for different art forms including a theatre and 4 gallery spaces. As a chief of children’s culture in Helsinki, she is in charge of city level development of children's culture within and across the sectors of the city as well as being part of national and international networks focused on the development of children's culture and partnership collaboration.
