LOY (he/they) is an immersive multimedia artist whose work explores transformation, identity, and power structures. Their work is influenced by club nights, underground culture, and archetypal psychology. They favour non-hierarchical decision making and working through storytelling and play. Led by intuition and grounded in research, the intention of the work is to challenge, subvert, and heal.
Loy's work has shown at Mall Galleries, Electrowerkz, Towner Gallery, Swiss Cottage Gallery, Stephen Lawrence Gallery, arebyte, among other UK and international arts spaces including Macao Milan, Kruja Albania, and Sakeii University, Osaka. Loy has international collectors and co-directed and produced the multisensory exhibition 'SWITCH'. They are also a founding member of Accept The Cookies - an Immersive Arts UK funded network of autonomous artists exploring the blurring of online and offline worlds.
More recently Loy's work has been concerned with alternative technology and what it means to be human in an age of AI, algorithms, and big tech.
