Leila is Producer at UP Projects. Leila leads on the production and delivery of UP Projects’ public art commissions and the maintenance of UP Projects’ permanent commissions. Leila is currently working on A Love Song for Whitechapel with Aya Haidar, a project that involves engaging both young people and elders in the creation of a new artwork in Whitechapel, East London. Previously Leila has worked on our London Gallery Weekend Performance Programme, producing work by various artists in public locations across London. Leila also leads on UP Projects' environmental reporting ensuring that we are capturing carbon related data across all of our projects and programmes.
Alongside her role at UP Projects, Leila is a creative interdisciplinary practitioner whose work spans illustration, film, spoken word and visual storytelling. Leila has worked with a number of celebrated arts and culture organisations including the London Transport Museum, the Wellcome Collection and the Science Museum, London. Some of her projects are designed to engage communities new to the arts, culture, and heritage sector through the development and delivery of participatory workshops and interactive activities.
From 2021-2022, she was part of the Young Freelancer cohort at the London Transport Museum where she gained extensive experience working with a range of people, including children, young people, and individuals with SEND. This experience reflects her passion and commitment to championing diversity and inclusivity within the arts and culture sector.
Leila graduated from De Montfort University with a BA(Hons) in Architecture.
