Senior Economic Development and Regeneration Officer at North Tyne Combined Authority

Ian is Senior Economic Development and Regeneration officer at the North of Tyne Combined Authority, overseeing development of an economic corridor aligned to the reopening of the Northumberland Railway Line from Newcastle to Ashington and on the Tyne Taskforce, focussed on rejuvenation of the river Tyne.

Ian previously worked on Meridian Water; Enfield Council's flagship £6bn regeneration scheme, leading on the delivery of the Social Value, Cultural and Communication strategies and all associated delivery programmes and projects.

From 2012 to 2019, Ian was a Project Director at King’s Cross, employed by Argent (the Property Developer). He led the Regeneration team who dealt with strategic planning for, consultation on and the delivery of, various art, community and sustainability projects at King’s Cross and other sites.

Before joining Argent, from 2007 Ian worked on the future of Hackney Wick and the associated Masterplan as part of the delivery of the 2012 Olympics legacy. Prior to this, Ian also worked for Lambeth Council, Greater London Enterprise and the Millennium Commission. Ian has an MSc distinction from the UCL Bartlett School in Spatial Planning and is a member of the RTPI.
