Beverley Dowdell has been Chairman of the Black Heritage Association since 2002. The charity supports the welfare and social wellbeing of members of the Caribbean community in Southampton. After moving from Jamaica to Southampton in 1971, Beverley worked as a nurse until her retirement. She has a strong interest in Arts and Crafts, mainly spinning, weaving and dyeing. When she is not at Black Heritage, she is indulging in her crafts and teaching others.
