In Their Own Words brings together a collection of UP Projects' work from the past 20 years.
It celebrates the projects we have developed with and for communities across the UK and online, portrayed through the words of people who have been involved with or experienced our work.
Each project is accompanied by a short text written by people who have encountered or participated in one of our projects and tells of their experience "in their own words". It is often hard to qualify or quantify the benefit of socially engaged practice and we hope this publication helps demonstrate why collaborations between artists and communities matter.
