The case study for Shapes of Water, Sounds of Hope was developed in response to Laurie Peake’s contribution to Are curators still relevant? as part of the Assembly online event series. The project was commissioned by Super Slow Way, where Peake works as director, and produced by artist Suzanne Lacy and collective In-Situ. The case study, written by Freelance Curator Chloe Hodge, looks at the framework for Shapes of Water, Sounds of Hope, that explored the history of Brierfield, a small former mill town in Pendle, Lancashire through community meetings, meals and singing sessions.
