Constellations is a free learning and development programme for artists who are working with socio-political issues, community-oriented practice and/or public contexts. Conceived by UP Projects and delivered in partnership with Flat Time House, the programme supports artists to develop their practice, collaborate with others, access new networks.

The eight artists for Constellations 2017-18 were Beverley Bennett, Connie Butler, Ting-Ting Cheng, Edmund Cook, Carla Cruz, Sophie Hoyle, Gal Leshem and Camara Taylor.

The artists formed a working group that met on a monthly basis. Through a series of day-long workshops hosted by Flat Time House (FTHo) and other sites, the group explored different methods and approaches to artistic research and community-oriented practice. Each session was led by the following invited guests: Ain Bailey, Helen Cammock, Jasleen Kaur, Rory Pilgrim and Rehana Zaman. The workshops covered a range of activities including a listening session, a cooking session, and off site visits to various locations across London.

The programme culminated in Welcoming Ghosts, a public session held at Flat Time House (FTHo). The content of the day was shaped by the group collaboratively and reflected the thinking and ideas that had been explored throughout the 2017-2018 programme. The event was accompanied by a publication.
