A four-day programme of open air film featuring sci-fi cult classics and rarities alongside talks and artist installations which explore the race for planet colonisation, visions of cosmic utopias and future intergalactic worlds. Refreshments for sale. Part of Scalarama 2015.

Open air screening of Metropolis (Dir. Fritz Lang, 1927, PG, 118 mins).

Dubbed “the grandaddy of sci-fi movies” by The Guardian; Metropolis is a German expressionist epic science-fiction drama about a futurist Utopian society and the sharp dividebetween the working class and the city planners. One day the son of the city's mastermind comes across this other world of the underground ‘workers’ and is shocked at what he finds. How will it unravel?
