Joe Dunning is a business development expert with eighteen years’ experience in the art world. He has worked with artists, galleries, auction houses, art fairs, advisors, collectors, foundations and museums, with a particular focus on business development, client engagement, and the intersection of art with the fields of technology, finance, and philanthropy.
He is the founder of Dunning & Partners, a business development consultancy for culture. Through work across partnerships, strategy and projects, Dunning & Partners helps clients in art, architecture, design, and heritage raise funds, advance their mission, and achieve their goals.
Joe launched Dunning & Partners in 2020 after a fourteen-year career in the commercial art world, where he held positions at Christie’s and Sotheby’s in both London and New York.
He is also a mentor with Creative Access, an advisor to Hospital Rooms, and a member of the President’s Advisory Board of the New York Academy of Art. He also teaches at Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
He has a BA in Modern Languages from Oxford University and an MA in Cultural and Creative Industries from King’s College, London.
