Constellations ° Assemblies 2024

Online Events Programme

Part of Constellations

August 2024 – February 2025

1 of 4

Constellations ° Assemblies 2024 was a series of three online events involving a range of UK and international speakers and open to all artists, curators, practitioners, commissioners, communities, and those working across public art, social practice and regeneration.

UP Projects' latest edition of Constellations ° Assemblies explored the relationship between creative practice and policy across three online events.

  • How can we harness political energy? With Artist Dread Scott and Chisenhale Gallery director Dr. Zoé Whitley [25 September 2024 | 14:00 – 15:15 BST]
  • How can we push for culture-based climate action? [13 November 2024 | 14:00 – 15:15 GMT]
  • Art in schools: how can we get culture back on the agenda? [12 February 2025 | 14:00 – 15:15 GMT]

Taking place between September 2024 and February 2025 and involving a range of UK and international speakers, our Constellations ° Assemblies 2024 programme was rooted in our firm belief that socially engaged practice has the potential to catalyse change while also recognising that this can only happen when supported by action at policy-level. Building on this premise, the three online Assemblies reflected on the role that art can play in supporting advocacy and campaigning, as well as acknowledging the challenges and obstacles that need to be tackled along the way.
